The six days we spent at Santisimo Sacramento were some of the most fulfilling days of our lives. Father Joe and his staff were so welcoming and friendly - they were wonderful hosts. We were amazed to see the breadth and depth of the outreach programs that were provided by Santisimo Sacramento. It was great to have an opportunity not only to see the programs but also participate in some of them. It was also wonderful to finally meet our family from the Family-to-Family Program in person and to get to know them better.
Despite seeing poverty, which was hard to anticipate or fully comprehend until seen first-hand, the friendliness and happiness of the poor made the experience a tremendously humbling yet positive one. The trip has strengthened our faith and help us understand why helping the poor is such a vital component to being a Christian.
