Peter
Christ the King Parish

Fr. Uhen,
I wanted to just write and say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for
the wonderful trip this summer. It was a true honor for Aron and I to be
able to help out with organizing the trip, and our only prayer in doing so
was that the people of Piura would know that they are important to us, not
just when we come to visit, but on a daily basis in the lives of many in our
parish.
One of the best parts about coming to Peru is the intense reflection it
stirs in the soul upon returning. There is so much to learn, so much to
grasp, and so little time that I often feel overwhelmed at how much I
seemingly "missed" while there, only to realize it in reflection later on.
But for me, this very reflection that I draw upon daily is what excites my
spirit into action.
Aron and I have discussed at length how we have both been renewed in the
Spirit because of this mission. I think none of us will ever know (while in
this life anyway) the true breadth of effect that this holy work is having,
not only amongst your people, but in the hearts of those who journey there.
I am thoroughly convinced after this trip that the cure for many of our
ailing problems in the US is simply the life changing love of Christ that we
find so easily in doing this work.
There is much to be thankful for, there is much to hope for, and it brings
us tremendous satisfaction and comfort in Christ to do both. Thank you so
much for your life and work, and what it has become to so many of us who
need a way to find Christ in a society that often tries to hide Him.
We love you all and look forward to your coming visit!
May God continue to bless you,
Peter
